Evening Timepiece

I've been a pretty busy girl these last few days, so this morning it was time to catch up on my daily newsletters, emails and blogs. As I was browsing through my emails, specifically my "Who What Wear Daily," I came across this gem of an article. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am ALWAYS wearing a watch, but there are many times I take it off for an evening look. Well, this article will certainly change that! Take a look at some of these fantastic evening looks that incorporated...you guessed it....a watch!

Summer Solstice

In honor of today being the summer solstice (the first true day of summer and the longest day of the year), I put together a few bathing suits and cover ups that have been on my wish list!

From left to right: Betty Black & Lime Swimsuit by Mandalynn via ThreadSence, ASOS Oversized Cocoon Beach Shirt, Marc By Marc Jacobs Toucan Print Bandeau Bikini Top and Shorts, ASOS 2 in 1 Chiffon Beach Skirt and Dress, L*Space Italia Bikini Top and Sassari Bikini Bottom, ASOS  Feather Print Beach Kaftan

Hopefully one (or a few) of these will wind up in my closet so I can bear the Southern California heat in style!

Five Favorites

A couple months ago, I posted some of my favorite quotes/life inspiration I had found via Pinterest. I received a lot of positive feedback and since I have been 'pinning' a lot of quotes and inspiration recently, I decided to do a second installment for this week's 'five' post!

Last Week's Moments

After "unplugging" for a few days while in Ohio visiting my family, I'm back in CA and catching up on all my blog reading, posting, emailing, etc. Here are a few pictures that captured special moments from last week's trip...
My sister and I at the Radiohead concert (which was awesome!)
Purple, green and white flowers for my bridal shower.
Hanging 'puffs' at my bridal shower. My sister purchased these (she only had to pull apart the layers), but for those of you who are DIY-minded, there is an easy tutorial from Martha Stewart here!
Dinner with my sisters and some friends after the shower. I'm wearing the Joleen Jumpsuit by Joie, which is on sale at shopbop right now!
Sparklers make any gathering that much more celebratory...esepcially while sipping champagne in your PJ's, outside, on a perfect summer evening!

It was the perfect trip home, with tons of family time (mostly with my sisters). I only wish it hadn't flown by so quickly. Can't wait until my family is here for the wedding in August!

Unplugged

I have, for the most part, unplugged myself this week. I am enjoying time with my family and friends in Ohio. My sisters and mom are throwing me a bridal shower this week and I couldn't be more excited to have so many people I love in one place AND to start celebrating my upcoming wedding! I'll make sure to take lots of pictures which you can be sure I will post sometime after I get back from my trip!

Five.

Now that June is finally here, it is time to get my summer reading list in order! Here are the first 5 on my list...although, I actually just finished number 1. It was so amazing that I had to include it!

1.
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. SUCH an amazing read! Very inspiring and it truly motivates you to live life at your own fullest potential. I strongly recommend this read to any and EVERYONE!

2.
Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James. Can't help it....one of summer's most controversial books, so of course I have to read it!

3.
By Invitation Only: How We Built Gilt and Changed the Way Millions Shop by Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson. Looking forward to hearing the real life account on building a billion dollar start up in the online fashion world.

4.
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. I mean, the man's a genius. Why not read a book all about him?

5.

The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides. A book on numerous notable books lists in 2011 and just haven't gotten around to reading yet. Looks like summer is my opportunity!

Happy first weekend of June!
